Nur Michael Keith-

-musician/guitarist/improviser/spiritual seeker.

-started as a punk guitarist in the 80's but later moved to the blues.

-toured and performed constantly in the blues through the 90's.

-by the 00's  was completely devoted to free improvisation .
much recording and some International performances

-from 2018 to 2025  lived on a small island in BC Canada. 
-many local gigs and much recording of a hybrid type of original music occured.

-currently based in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia.

-has studied and investigated numerous world instruments and their music. Kurdish Iranian tanbour, South Indian veena and the Chinese guqin figure prominently

-has  performed throughout Canada as well as Taiwan, France and Italy.



michaels music is a deep spiritual and devotional practice that is always moving.

Music created in and for meditative/completive and flow states .

the blues
-has played, recorded and toured  with this music since the early 90's. It is the backbone of ALL his music. 
-has fond memories of playing the Blues all over Canada with standouts being the Winnepeg Folk Fest and Monteral Jazz festival.
free improvisation and experimental
-began a fascination with freely improvised music in his early thirties. 

-worked in this area very intensely for almost a decade.

-recorded and performed constantly.

 -did a series of trio shows in Europe. 

-continues to practice this mode of playing and continues to record 
   hours of it. 

-recorded an album entitled "Number 9" with John Oswald and Roger Turner which was released on the Emanem label by the late Martin Davidson in the UK.
